Signs of cheating are the last thing you want to think about when you're in a relationship. But there are warning signs and here are some of them. This is not geared to infidelity on only the man's side or only the woman's – there are signs here for both sexes to watch for.
She buys another cell phone and doesn't let you know. Unless she has a new job or is dealing drugs, she's probably talking to another man on that phone. Or she sets up a free email account that she doesn't tell you about, and she password-protects her personal files on your shared PC.
He starts deleting all your incoming calls on your land line from the Caller ID. Another of the signs of cheating is that he may start deleting all his incoming emails after he reads and replies, when he used to let them sit in the inbox.
Your wife stops talking to you about what's going on in her life, and stops asking you to advise her on her personal issues. Or she becomes accusatory towards you and asks if you're being true to her, since she feels guilty.
Your husband suddenly has a desire to try new love-making styles with you. Perhaps he wants more sex from you now, and more often. Or, worse, he doesn't want to have sex with you at all anymore.
Your wife says she is working lots of overtime, but her paychecks aren't any bigger. Another of the signs of cheating is that she starts fights on purpose to give her an excuse to tromp out of the house. And you find out accidentally that she took a vacation day from work, but she told you she was working that day.
Mutual friends begin to act oddly towards you, either because they know about the cheating, or because they've been told what a terrible husband you are. Signs of cheating also include her co-workers who are uncomfortable when you're around.
You find birth-control pills in her bathroom closet, even though you had a vasectomy years ago. She joins a gym and starts a rigorous program to get into better shape. She is suddenly preoccupied with her appearance.
He brings up hypothetical questions, asking you if you think it's possible to be in love with more than one person? Or is there only one person for everyone? He stops wearing his wedding ring. And he comes home from work with a different after shave or soap smell on him than he had when he left in the morning.
Signs of cheating include there being less money going into your joint checking account every payday. You find lingerie or other small gifts in the house that you did not give to your wife. She seems to feel uncomfortable around you, and is moved to anger very easily.
Perhaps the most telling sign of all is that you even have to ask yourself if your spouse is cheating, in the first place.
